Small talk Stories

Tinkle, Tinkle, Little Star | The story about baby pee

It took him 220 days, but he finally succeeded last night.

Seven months and six days he had been waiting for this moment, his moment.

60% of a year he had been planning.

At least, that is wat I think he did. Because when his moment finally arrived he was smiling.

Smiling from ear to ear.

It was like he was saying: “Got ya!”

Yes, last night it finally happened. Our little boy made his big hit while I was changing his diaper.

I was tired, because it was also my bedtime.

And when I laid there in my bed I heard him. He was whining a little bit. He usually does that when he is tired and misses his pacifier.

So I got up and put the pacifier in his mouth.

After that I got in bed and tried to get some sleep.

‘No, not this time dad.’

He started whining again.

So maybe it wasn’t the pacifier.

He had also had his food a couple minutes before, so he couldn’t be hungry.

I was running out of options.

When I smelled him I didn’t notice anything special.

He didn’t fill up his diaper.

But when I put him back in bed he started whining immediately.

‘Maybe his diaper isn’t feeling good’, I thought.

So I took him with me and opened his diaper.

This is where his plan started working.

Normally I let him keep on the diaper while I take a new one out of the cabinet.

No, not this time.

This time I took of his diaper and then started looking for a new one.

And that was the big mistake.

While I came up with my head and the new diaper: PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

There he went unloading his hose as if I was on fire.

Luckily for me I got some sort of reasonable response time and he just missed my head. But he did pee on my shirt.

As fast as I could I laid the new diaper on him to catch the rest of the pee.

And that was the moment when I saw him smiling at me. 😉

A couple of moments later I thought that he was done.

The damage was done, my shirt was wet but my face was saved.

Time to change the diaper again.

This time I tried to change him faster, but I think that he is a fast learner.

Another beam of baby pee through the room.

Because he was faster this time he didn’t really have time to accurately focus his beam.

So thankfully he missed me.

But off course not the floor.

Time for a new diaper.

This time I won.

I had put on his diaper without more damage.

And when I put him in his bed it was just a matter of minutes before he was sleeping with a smile on his face.

I can just wonder about what he was dreaming while I was cleaning the baby pee of the floor.
