Celebrations all around, but with a moment of silence
LA has turned 20 weeks today.
The big 2 and 0.
He gets zero new rights. He isn’t even allowed to vote for his favorite toy yet. Although I believe it is still the bottle that feeds him.
But this needs to be celebrated.
So it is time for cake for mom and dad.
A very nice strawberry cake with a pinch of whip cream. Yum. Let’s get those pounds/kilograms back in, on and around my belly.
There was no candle for him to blow out. But we did let him play with the whip cream for a couple of seconds. Actually only to make a quick picture with the phone, so the quality isn’t all that.
But on this day of celebration.
There is also a moment of sadness.
Not only in this family, but in all families that have had the tragedy to lose a pregnancy or infant.
So although there was no candle on the cake for LA to blow, there is still a candle burning for NY. Which mom and dad will blow out together tonight before they go to bed.
“When a child loses his parent, they are called an orphan. When a spouse loses her or his partner, they are called a widow or widower. When parents lose their child, there isn’t a word to describe them.” – Ronald Reagan
